Holy Blossom Temple is Toronto’s first synagogue. It features a news beautiful glass, LEED-silver certified, light-filled Schwartz/Reisman Atrium as well as the synagogue’s original spaces. The two historical wings represent two of the three aspects of a synagogue: the 1938 building is a Beit Tefillah, a house of prayer; the 1960 building is a Beit Midrash, a house of learning. With the new spaces, Holy Blossom adds a Beit Knesset, a house of gathering. The central atrium features a creative melding of old and new that preserves the historical character of the congregation with state-of-the-art purpose-driven spaces.
