The John B. Aird Gallery opened in 1985 and was named in honour of the twenty-third Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario to recognize his exceptional support of the visual arts in Canada. The mandate of the John B. Aird Gallery is to create awareness and enjoyment of works by contemporary professional artists. Open free of charge to the public, the Aird Gallery is a special place providing a nurturing atmosphere for both artist and viewer. The gallery is located on the ground floor of 900 Bay Street, Toronto in the Macdonald Block.
